Burdy began to DJ back in 1993, initially house music but through residency at "The Room" club in Hull, moved on to DJing Hip-Hop, Abstract Beats and Blunted Techno. In late 1994, started recording as one half of Baby Mammoth on Pork Recordings with Mark Blissenden, releasing a debut album in August 1996. To date, with the recent release of "Seven Up", there are 7 albums by Baby Mammoth, and numerous remixes, most notably for G-Stone’s "Tosca".
These days Burdy dj's in a more uptempo style, beats of all kinds, Nu-Jazz, Breaks, House etc....things not normally associated with his previous work. After his critically acclaimed 12" "Doobie Dada" (SR015) with reworks by the likes of Solid Doctor & Q-burn's abstract message, the longplayer is now ready to hit the streets. "42" , Burdy's upcoming album release on Sunshine Enterprises stands for the ultimate quest for the mother of all answers. Like a wise druid, Burdy went through the whole galaxy to get the most assorted flavours around to cook up a very special and mystic brew. This healthy potion consists of moody and dubby ingredients, ranging from down to uptempo grooves and is specially brewed for your own personal wellness. So you are welcome to hitchhike through the surreal sound universe of your "chauffeur de taxi groove" – may the question be discovered. Welcome to Burdy's mind!
