DIRTY started out playing guitar at a very young age, but found himself tweaking the amp knobs and wanking the whammy bar more than studying the notes. Proving to have more of a knob fetish he turned to sound engineering by the age of 19. Based in San Francisco as a DJ, Producer and Sound Designer, DIRTYHERTZ is a musician in every sense of the word and continues to make waves in his productions and sound design and soundscapes. He has designed for well-known manufacturers such as E-Mu's Audity 2000, Proteus 2000, Xtreme Lead1, E-4XT Ultra, and Kurzweil's K-2600. He has helped sound for companies such as Apple, Big Fish Audio, Konami Video and NASA to name a few. He ranges from emotional downtempo music to full on trance and some of the biggest names in the business from Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Digweed just to name a few. He has played big venues, small venues, outdoor events, indoor events and bedroom rockers! One of his most honored events was at the SF Museum of Modern Art for the opening of Drawing Restraint 9. This was a film by Matthew barney starring Matthew and Bjork. He has been awarded SF Mastermind in 2006 by the SF Weekly, voted top 10 DJ in SF for Nitevibe.com and is featured on Below Zero's first compilation CD - MINUS 1. http://www.dirtyhertz.com
