This English singer-songwriter and guitarist debuted in February 2006 with Corinne Bailey Rae and was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2006 in the annual BBC pool of music critics, Sound of 2006. These predictions were right on target as she became only the fourth female British act in history to have her first debut at number one. She has been nominated for a BRIT award and won two MOBO awards. She studied violin at an early age and started singing in her church where she leaned traditional hymns and Primal Scream tunes. She had an early obsession with the music of Led Zeppelin and later would go on to start her own all-female group, Helen. Continuing her path in music she started her solo career and embarked on a more soulful path. She worked with groups such as The New Mastersounds and Homecut Directive as well as worked with Mark Hill from The Artful Dodger. There is still a long journey for this amazing talent, so "Put Your Records On" and groove!
