In 1997 the Sonar Kollektiv was founded by DJ/Producer team, Jazzanova. Since then they have released amazing music that ranges all over the spectrum and as they say, “New ideas is what we’re looking for and the old ones inspire us.”

This independent label out of Berlin has been so influential on some many people and they have released their celebratory album of 10 Years of Sonar Kollektiv. Have they slowed down? Not at all they are only moving faster with the releases from artists such as Clara Hill, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Ame, Micatone, Trickski and of course Jazzanova just to name a few on the label.

The label continues their vision of “the space in between” keeping a balance between underground eclecticism and music that reaches a wider audience. Their 10 Year release is a 2 CD compilation. CD1 offers 20 musical gems while CD2 is a mix by Jazzanova.

Some of the highlights are: Joe Dukie, Outlines, Thief, Jazzanova and Benny Sings… if you like your soul, pop, rock, reggae, jazz and dance – don’t walk – run and get this release.
