At 19, after receiving a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, she left Chile and settled in Boston where she met amazing people and her mind and heart opened wide to a new world of music and perception. Giving in to a much deeper appreciation for sound and the power it has to change every living and non living thing, she became convinced that music is indeed a powerful tool towards generating a much more loving, understanding, peaceful and respectful world. Praised as “one of the top 50 albums of the year” by Rolling Stone Chile, Yael´s first full length album “Common Ground” is a blend of indie folk and lounge electronica. Yael currently resides in Los Angeles, where she continues to perform, write, produce, record and teach/guide. Her most recent collaborations include a series of webisodes (under development) starring Galooney the Clown (www.babonazo.com), as well as co-writes with Cathy Heller (www.cathyhellermusic.com) and Lindsey Ray, amongst other artists. Her voice and music have been featured in numerous recordings and films including Chilean-Mexican production El Brindis for which she was commissioned to write and produce the song Aqui, the opening track to the film.
