 If you like dark haunting melodies, analog production, vintage electronics and bands such as Portishead, Cocteau Twins and Air then you have come to the right place! You know if you have been listening to BZ for years that those three bands have also been an influence on us... and when we crossed paths again with Mikael Johnston for his project 'The Swerve' we were excited to hear their latest release knowing their unique sound.The Swerve is an organically driven electronic trio from the United States, whose intention is to create a vintage soundtrack to modern life. The band consists of core members Mikael Johnston (Mephisto Odyssey, Dresden and Johnston), D1 and Jana Hanavan. Additional production including drums and synths were provided by Joseph Epperson. Real instruments, warm analog electronics, intoxicating melodies, drum machines, psychedelic undercurrents, songs, and heavy synthesizers are what you can expect from productions by the group. The bands first release the "Wonder" EP will be available August 23, 2011 on iTunes and other fine online music outlets.  "We spent a lot of time in the studio refining the songs and even the version of 'The Virgin' included on the EP is completely new. The Swerve is coming more to the forefront of my musical life and another EP is already in the works and we have one live show under our belts with more to come," says Mikael.
