Crowded House - Either Side of the World

crowdedhouseCrowded House are a rock group formed in 1985 in Melbourne, Australia, led by New Zealand singer-songwriter Neil Finn. Finn is the primary songwriter and creative director of the band, having led it through several incarnations, drawing members from New Zealand (his brother, Tim Finn and Eddie Rayner), Australia (Paul Hester, Nick Seymour, Peter Jones and Craig Hooper) and the United States (Mark Hart, and Matt Sherrod).  Crowded House are referred to as The Crowdies by Australian fans.

Originally active from 1985 to 1996, the band has had consistent commercial and critical success in Australia and New Zealand and international chart success in two phases, beginning with their self titled debut album, Crowded House, which reached number twelve on the US Album Chart in 1987 and provided the Top Ten hits, "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong".

In 2005 came the loss of drummer and co-founder Paul Hester to suicide which naturally lead to much complexity and confusion.  Today, Crowded House releases "Intriguer" the new album and second release since Hester's passing.

Neil Finn is the main songwriter and this album is a rebirth on so many levels.  Guided with the help of producer and engineer Jim Scott (Wilco) this album reaches into a new sound with a more mature sound.

The downtempo and soft rock sound of "Either Side of the World" delivers that classic Crowded House romance. "Everybody knows it," Finn sings, "when you're in luck ... and then, you're in hell."

If you enjoy what we do, you can help support! We do this for the love but we still have costs, every little bit helps as we are an independent show.
